Discover Where Your Wings Will Carry You

Command Every Journey

Gain the confidence to act as Pilot in Command. A Private Pilot Certificate empowers you to fly single-engine aircraft for personal travel across Florida and the nation, giving you total control of your time and destination.

Invite the World

Flying is best enjoyed with others. Fly friends and family to Florida’s coastal escapes or weekend getaways, offering them a breathtaking aerial perspective that transforms a simple trip into a legendary memory.

Build Your Professional Core

Earning your Private Pilot License is the essential prerequisite for a career in the skies. You will master the fundamental skills, safety habits, and aeronautical knowledge required to pursue advanced ratings or commercial aviation.

The Roadmap to Your License

1. Master the Basics

Learn alongside our CFIs. You will master pre-flight checks, ground operations, departures, and landings while building a professional understanding of aircraft systems and flight safety standards.

2. Celebrate the Solo

3. Navigate the State

4. The Finish Line Checkride

Note: Every flight student progresses at a unique pace based on their skills.

This is the ultimate milestone. Once you prove high proficiency and safety, you will take the aircraft up alone for the first time—an unforgettable moment of achievement in every pilot's life.

Take your skills further with cross-country training. Learn to plan long-distance flights, navigate via GPS and pilotage, and communicate with Air Traffic Control across diverse airspace.

Conclude your training by passing the FAA written exam and the practical checkride. Once the FAA examiner gives the nod, you are officially a licensed pilot ready for adventure.

Dedicated students who fly several times per week can achieve their license in roughly three months. Our curriculum is streamlined for efficiency, helping you stay current and focused on passing your FAA checkride quickly.

While three months is a realistic goal, the total time varies based on your personal availability, weather conditions, and instructor schedules. We prioritize safety and mastery above all else to ensure you become a truly competent aviator.

Lakeview Aviation offers flexible training windows to fit your lifestyle. Consistency is the secret to flight training success, and our team will work with you to maintain a schedule that ensures rapid and steady skill retention.

Common Pilot Questions

Can I start training without experience?

Absolutely. Most of our students have never touched the controls of a plane before their first lesson. We guide you through everything from step one.

Is there a maximum age limit?

There is no upper age limit for pilots. As long as you can pass an FAA medical exam, you are eligible to fly and enjoy the freedom of flight.

How long will the training take?

Full-time students can finish in 3 months, while part-time students typically finish in 6 to 12 months depending on flight frequency.

What is the total estimated cost?

A typical program at Lakeview Aviation costs between $11k and $16k, covering all instruction, rentals, and necessary testing materials.

Do I need perfect 20/20 vision?

No. You only need vision that is correctable to 20/40 via glasses or contacts to pass your FAA medical certification for flight.

Can I train while I work a job?

Yes. We offer morning, evening, and weekend slots to ensure you can earn your license without having to sacrifice your full-time career.

How many lessons should I take?

We suggest 2 or 3 lessons per week. This intensity builds muscle memory and helps you progress through the FAA syllabus more efficiently.

Where can I fly once I am licensed?

You can fly anywhere in the United States, carry passengers, and even fly into international airspaces like the Bahamas.

What is a Discovery Flight?

This is a $99 intro flight where you actually fly the plane with an instructor to decide if flight training is the right fit for you.
